BLACK MARKET JAZZ.
As soon as we heard about Black Market Jazz, we knew they were perfect for Dead or Alive. All raised locally in the Coachella Valley, this trio comprising bass player James Gastelum, keyboardist Alfonso Olachea and drummer Rafael Rodriguez creates Latin-infused smooth jazz that grooves in Palm Springs. Catch them every Friday at the bar from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Let’s be honest. Most people have a pretty generic, polarized view of what California wine is: big, expensive Napa cabs or Two-Buck Chuck. But in recent years, a new guard of winemakers has been shaking up the style. Palm Springs Wine Fest is dedicated to these creators. Founded by Dead or Alive owner Christine Soto, the nonprofit brings educational wine events to the Coachella Valley, from seminars and trips to wine dinners and trainings.
